getting preggo

So one day I finally decided I was ready to have a kid. After watching my one year old nephew play at the bottom of the stairs at my house, he was just so cute that I thought, "yeah, I'm okay with having my own."

It's funny how things work out. Even though I was ready, I guess Mother Nature wasn't. After 6 months of trying and not getting pregnant, I went to see my obgyn to see what was going on. Apparently, 6 months isn't long at all. Some couples tried for years before they got pregnant. So my doc said keep trying the natural way and if in 6 more months we still weren't pregnant, we could begin discussing ... stuff.

Then I finally went and bought an ovulation kit and ta-da, we got pregnant in the 7th month.

And a week after the first pregnancy test showed positive, I took another one just to make sure.

And then it hit me. Oh crap, I'm really pregnant. There's no going back now.

It was the beginning of something crazy and almost unreal. Let's just say for now that pregnancy was a huge eye opener for me.
